Peer Support

A peer counselor is an individual with a disability who will share experiences, provide support and education and serve as a positive role model for the client. Through one-to-one or small group interactions, individuals will gain a better understanding of community resources, will gain access to new information on medical or emotional aspects of disability and will be encouraged to develop and maintain a positive self-image.
JOIN at the CICIL Cross-Disability Peer Support Group
These events will be open to adults with any disability, visible or invisible, to teach and learn from one another. Group members will find a safe space to build community and share lived experiences with one another. Peers and staff will share skills, knowledge, and resources to empower one another to live and function at our highest potential.
